500 Pharma Teams on FieldVoice: What the Data Says About Retention
500 pharma teams later, the retention data has a clear story, and Connex integration turns out to be a bigger part of it than we expected.
FieldVoice has now crossed 500 pharma teams, up from the 300 we reported a while back, and the growth itself is less interesting to us than what the retention data underneath it is showing.
Retention has always been the number that actually matters in field force software. Pharma teams sign up for a lot of tools during budget season. Far fewer are still using them meaningfully a year later.
What is holding up
- •Twelve-month retention among teams onboarded with voice-first logging from day one remains meaningfully higher than teams that started with manual entry and switched later
- •Offline-first sync reliability continues to correlate strongly with sustained usage in low-connectivity regions, exactly where we would expect churn risk to be highest without it
- •Regional language usage has kept climbing rather than plateauing, which tells us adoption is not just initial enthusiasm wearing off into English-language fallback
The Connex effect we did not fully predict
The genuinely new finding in this data set is what happens to retention among teams who adopted Connex alongside FieldVoice. Teams with verified Connex visits flowing into their FieldVoice records show noticeably stronger engagement with the CRM overall, not just with the Connex-related records themselves.
Our working theory is that verified visit data changes what a rep's FieldVoice activity actually represents to their own compliance and sales operations teams. Once some of the records in the system are independently verified, the entire dataset gets treated as more trustworthy, which seems to increase how much internal attention and follow-through the system gets across the board, including for parts of the workflow that have nothing to do with Connex.
We are still gathering more data before we would call that a proven causal effect rather than a strong correlation. But 500 pharma teams in, with retention curves that keep bending in the direction we want rather than flattening out, we are increasingly confident that voice-first, offline-first, and now verification-backed were never three separate bets. They were one bet about what field teams in India actually need from software, made three times in three different places.
